Lullabee fabrics - Beginner - Learn to Sew PJ bottoms

This 1 day session course introduces garment sewing and is ideal for students who are beginner sewers ready to begin garment sewing. 

This course comprises a 1 day workshop. Participants will learn to use a sewing pattern to construct a pyjama bottom/trousers.

This course provides a beginner-friendly pattern along with expert guidance, covering everything from pattern interpretation to seam construction.

What You Will Learn:

  • Reading and using commercial patterns

  • Understanding sizing and fabric needs

  • Preparing and cutting fabric

  • Finishing seams and hems

  • How to create an elasticated waist

What’s Included:

  • Use of all our Pfaff sewing machines, overlockers, tools and equipment

  • Step-by-step guidance from an experienced teacher

  • Tea/Coffee & Biscuits

What you will need to bring:

  • Please bring your chosen fabric to the first session. If you haven't already, our tutor will help you choose during the session, so consider arriving a little early if you need to buy fabric. If possible, please ensure the fabric is pre-washed. A list of fabric choices and quantities will be provided upon booking.

You will leave with:

  • The ability to interpret sewing pattern instructions and accurately select your size.

  • New garment sewing skills, boosting your confidence for future projects.

  • A beginner-friendly commercial pattern to practice with at home.

  • A stylish pyjama bottoms/trousers.

Class Booking Policy

Please note that class bookings are non-refundable. Due to our small class sizes, rescheduling is also very limited. If you notify us at least two weeks before the scheduled class, we will do our best to transfer your booking to another date—however, this cannot be guaranteed.

All classes require a minimum of four participants to run. In the unlikely event that we need to cancel due to low enrollment, we will contact you promptly and offer either a full refund or the opportunity to rebook on an alternative date.

Minimum age for this class: 16 years old.

Important note: We will be taking photos during the session for our website and marketing purposes. If you prefer not to be included in the photos, please inform us before the session.

Please note: Depending on your individual sewing speed and experience level, you may not finish your project within the session time. However, we will ensure you leave with all the guidance, instructions, and support you need to confidently complete it at home.
