What you’ll learn:
Patchwork Essentials:Piece together a classic nine-patch design.
Colour Theory:Explore fabric value to create balanced, eye-catching patterns.
Sewing Skills:Master stitching and assembly, even if you’re a total novice.
Whether you're a sewing beginner or returning to the craft, this workshop provides all the tools and guidance you need. You’ll leave with a handmade cushion, full instructions to recreate the project at home, and the "quiet joy" of handmade crafting
Techniques:
• Basic colour theory with value-based layout design
• Gain confidence using cutting tools and a sewing machine for quilting projects
• Understand basic piecing
• Learn accurate seam and pressing techniques
• A gentle introduction to top quilting
• Construct a quilted envelope cushion cover
Materials needed:
• Main block: 3 fat quarters of differing colour and/or pattern
• Sashing and backing fabric: 2 fat quarters coordinated or contrasted to the above three.
• 17”x17” Fusible fleece or low-loft batting
• Matching thread
• A fat quarter size of lightweight fusible interfacing

Class Booking Policy
Please note that class bookings are non-refundable. Due to our small class sizes, rescheduling is also very limited. If you notify us at least two weeks before the scheduled class, we will do our best to transfer your booking to another date—however, this cannot be guaranteed.
All classes require a minimum of four participants to run. In the unlikely event that we need to cancel due to low enrollment, we will contact you promptly and offer either a full refund or the opportunity to rebook on an alternative date.
Minimum age for this class: 16 years old.
Important note: We will be taking photos during the session for our website and marketing purposes. If you prefer not to be included in the photos, please inform us before the session.
Please note: Depending on your individual sewing speed and experience level, you may not finish your project within the session time. However, we will ensure you leave with all the guidance, instructions, and support you need to confidently complete it at home.
