This full-day workshop is ideal for beginners who have some sewing machine experience and are keen to put their newfound skills into practice.

Level 1 – Make a Carry All Bag 

Taking sewing skills to the next level, we'll show you how to build on your sewing skills in a supportive environment. This roomy, fully lined Carry-All Bag is ideal for short getaways or transporting your craft kit

What You Will Learn:

• Cutting fabric with consistent seam allowances, ensuring a good fit

• How to attach a zip correctly

• How to sew a lining and conceal raw edges

What’s Included:

Use of all our Pfaff sewing machines, overlockers, tools and equipment

• Tea and Coffee

• Step-by-step guidance from an experienced instructor

What you need to bring:

Suitable Fabrics:

  • Outer: Cotton canvas, twill, denim, waxed cotton, furnishing fabrics, duck cloth

  • Base: Heavy denim and canvas, oilcloth, waxed cottons, leather

  • Lining: cotton poplin, quilting cotton, waterproof lining fabrics

Fabric requirements in metres:

  • Main: 100cm of 45”/110cm wide OR 50cm of 60”/150cm wide

  • Lining: 100cm of 45”/110cm wide OR 75cm of 60”/150cm wide

  • Base and outer pocket: 60cm of 45”/110cm wide OR 60”/150cm wide 

 *Fabric layout allows for nap/one-way design, plaids or stripes. 

Notions:

  • 100cm of woven cotton interfacing

  • 38mm wide webbing

  • 22”/56cm zip

• New sewing skills and confidence to tackle other sewing projects

Class Booking Policy

Please note that class bookings are non-refundable. Due to our small class sizes, rescheduling is also very limited. If you notify us at least two weeks before the scheduled class, we will do our best to transfer your booking to another date—however, this cannot be guaranteed.

All classes require a minimum of four participants to run. In the unlikely event that we need to cancel due to low enrollment, we will contact you promptly and offer either a full refund or the opportunity to rebook on an alternative date.

Minimum age for this class: 16 years old.

Important note: We will be taking photos during the session for our website and marketing purposes. If you prefer not to be included in the photos, please inform us before the session.

Please note: Depending on your individual sewing speed and experience level, you may not finish your project within the session time. However, we will ensure you leave with all the guidance, instructions, and support you need to confidently complete it at home.
