This Pockets Masterclass is a half-day workshop designed for confident sewists looking to enhance their garment-making skills by focusing on pocket-making techniques.
This class emphasises that adding pockets can be straightforward with minimal additional fabric and construction steps. Participants will explore various types of pockets and learn how to incorporate them into both garments and bags. An experienced tutor provides guidance and tips, building confidence and competence in making pockets.
What You Will Learn:
The workshop will teach you various sewing techniques for different types of pockets on sample pieces of calico fabric.
How to sew seam pockets, which are integrated into the side seam of garments.
How to create patch pockets, which are sewn onto the outside of the fabric.
Instructions on sewing jetted pockets, known for their elegant finish and hidden design, will be included.
Attendees will also learn how to construct bellows pockets, designed for added depth and functionality.

Class Booking Policy
Please note that class bookings are non-refundable. Due to our small class sizes, rescheduling is also very limited. If you notify us at least two weeks before the scheduled class, we will do our best to transfer your booking to another date—however, this cannot be guaranteed.
All classes require a minimum of four participants to run. In the unlikely event that we need to cancel due to low enrollment, we will contact you promptly and offer either a full refund or the opportunity to rebook on an alternative date.
Minimum age for this class: 16 years old.
Important note: We will be taking photos during the session for our website and marketing purposes. If you prefer not to be included in the photos, please inform us before the session.
Please note: Depending on your individual sewing speed and experience level, you may not finish your project within the session time. However, we will ensure you leave with all the guidance, instructions, and support you need to confidently complete it at home.
